Joining the conference were 200 representatives from MOIT, MARD as well as Foreign Embassies, trade promotion organizations (TPO), associations, local and international enterprises, public media agencies… The conference aimed to support Vietnam businesses dealing in food and agricultural products to enhance their production capacity as well as to improve quality and added-value for export products.
Throughout the Conference, many issues such as food ingredients sources in Vietnam, the general trends of food market around the world and the markets for high value-added food products in EU were presented by experts from the Ministry, CBI and AEON Vietnam. The Conference also provided the overview of the current situation of agro food sources in Vietnam and introduced a number of typical trade promotion programs for food and agricultural products. In addition, the discussion on how to create high value-added products for export and to be part of the international retail chains were put forward by the experts.
According to Mr. Ta Hoang Linh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), VIETRADE has implemented many trade promotion activities to support Vietnam businesses in food and agricultural products, such as: participating in foreign trade fairs & exhibitions, organizing training courses on export marketing, especially Export Coaching Program (ECP) in cooperation with CBI. Vietnamese firms joining the program shall be guided and supported throughout the manufacturing process to improve their export capabilities into EU market.
In the future, VIETRADE will continue to carry out many trade promotion activities, particularly “Vietnam Value Building Strategy on Food Industry for exporting to EU’s market” and VIETNAM FOODEXPO 2015 in collaboration with CBI as well as MARD and related associations.
