Japan interested in high-tech agricultural development cooperation with Vietnam through Vietnam Foodtech 2016

Along with the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2016 (Vietnam Foodexpo 2016), the Vietnam International Food Technology Exhibition (Vietnam Foodtech 2016) will take place from 16th - 19th November, 2016 in Ho Chi Minh city, with the objective to meet the growing needs of Vietnamese companies on machinery and advanced technology, also to support the efficient development of food industry in Vietnam.

Vietnam Foodtech 2016 is considered as an important platform, bringing together many Vietnamese and international suppliers in the field of food technology, and suppliers from Japan, one of the most developed countries in the field of food technology, are indispensable.

According to Mr. Toshihiko Tamura, Director of Japan Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (JAMA), Vietnam Foodtech 2016 is a primary choice for JAMA to bring Japanese agricultural machinery companies to Vietnam and find business partners for production cooperation and technology transition.

Five companies: ATEX Co., Ltd, Kanryu Co., Ltd, Tiger Kawashima Co., Ltd, Marumasu Kikai Co., Ltd and Yamamoto Co., Ltd, have registered to exhibit their products in Vietnam Foodtech 2016 including high-quality Long Grain Rice along with some machines that can add value to agricultural products and food like grain dryer using raw rice husk, rice milling machines, rice sorters and food washing machine.

“We choose Vietnam Foodtech 2016 to introduce, demonstrate agricultural products and machines because this is the largest exhibition for food processing technology with the participation of many distributors and commercial companies. Vietnam is appearing as a leading country in producing and exporting rice. The situation of agricultural machinery application in Vietnam has been progressed rapidly in recent years. Therefore, Vietnam is the most attractive country in Asia for our products. Beside, Vietnam and Japan have a really good relationship in agricultural cooperation by governmental, industrial and corporate levels”, said Mr. Tamura.

At Vietnam Foodtech 2016, JAMA intends to present their products and machines along with a detailed video show on how the machines are operated. At the same time, they will organize some promotional programs, meetings between Vietnamese and Japanese companies at their booths.

“The machines we bring to Vietnam this time are supporting machines for production and processing food. They are highly effective and have a long, durable life cycle. They have been adjusted, designed according to the specifications, climate, agricultural culture of Vietnam. They are expected to creating more income for Vietnamese farmers, said JAMA chairman.

Through Vietnam Foodtech 2016, Japanese companies wish to contribute to the modernization progression of Vietnamese agricultural sector.

In these past years, the collaboration between Vietnam and Japan in agricultural field has had significant progress. Both Vietnam and Japan have potentials and advantages for promoting the collaboration in agricultural development. Japan is a developed industrial country, with modern agriculture and a lot of advantages in applying advanced technology in agricultural production. However, Japanese agriculture can only meet about half of the consumption demand in their country and has to import agricultural products every years. This is considered as an advantage for Vietnam to expand the export of agricultural products to Japan if Vietnam can apply advanced machines and equipment to improve product quality and competitiveness of Vietnam in exporting agricultural products.
