Thanks to its largest and most comprehensive scale as a national trade trade promotion event in the food industry of Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade Exhibition has paid extreme focus in mobilizing the participation of numerous industry and trade agencies and organizations, together with international partners in the Exhibition to accompany food industry companies, with aim to creating a leading platform in ASEAN region for domestic and foreign to meet directly and exchange business and investment opportunities.
On 30th September.2016, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh sent a welcome letter to companies participating in the Exhibition. Full content of the letter is as follows:
| WELCOME LETTER Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2016 - Vietnam Foodexpo 2016 - The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOIT) welcomes Vietnamese and international organizations and companies to participate in the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2016 (Vietnam Foodexpo 2016) from 16th to 19th November, 2016 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh city. This is the largest international event in the year, held annually in accordance to international standards, combines the exhibition of products, services, machines and technology and conferences, seminars on topical issues of the food industry in Vietnam. Vietnam MOIT believes that Vietnam Foodexpo 2016 with its scale of 500 booths displayed by companies from 15 countries and territories will bring to the Exhibition practical opportunities for businesses and visitors to access to new trendy products, innovative achievements in food storage, food processing science and technology; create a favorable trade promotion environment for direct access and meeting potential partners to promote brands, expand market, contribute significantly to the strong and sustainable transformation steps of the Vietnam food industry in the ever deepened international economic integration process; gradually bring Vietnam to become an industrialized country which has a safe, modern, internationally competive food industry. On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, I wish organizations and companies participating in the Exhibition will gain many positive results. I wish the Vietnam Internation Food Industry Exhibition 2016 (Vietnam Foodexpo 2016) a great success.

Organized the first time in 2015, Vietnam Foodexpo 2015 was a total success, met the confidence of exhibitors as well as the expectations of visitors, accompanied the ever strong and sustainable development of Vietnam food industry.
In 2016, as a primary goal, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency) has fulfilled the mobilization of exhibitors who are businesses and organizations having manufacturing and trading capability of products in line with the criteria of the Exhibition; their products’ origin, design and quality must be assured to meet the current regulations of the State; they have qualified personnels equipped with professional skills of participating in international trade exhibitions, in order to build a reputation of professionalism of the exhibition.
The Exhibition is expected to continue to welcome a large number of over 20,000 visitors, especially including delegations of traders and potential buyers from key overseas markets such as: The Republic of Korea, Japan, USA, EU, Middle East ... and from many localities across the country.
