Domestic biscuit find new direction in Vietnam Foodexpo 2016

Biscuits may not be an essential consumer goods but the revenue it brought for small companies is not small at all, and it does not require a complex manufacturing technologies and have a growing markets.

 According to the research result from the international market survey Company Business Monitor International (BMI), the revenue of the biscuit industry in 2014 reached 27,000 billion VND and is forecasted to reach 40,000 billion VND. The top 7 biggest enterprises including Kinh Do, Orion Food Vina, Huu Nghi, Perfetti Van Melle, Richfield, Bibica and Liwayway (Oshi). All have the revenue of over 1,000 billion VND each year from this sweet industry, the business is also called “joy for children”.
 The biscuit business have always been considered to be quite safe and highly profitable. Safety consumption trend as well as changes in consumer perception that favor domestic goods has helped many businesses in the country more daring to invest in production, branded biscuits are having a lot of market opportunity.
 Biscuit products manufactured by domestic enterprises today is extremely rich in quality and design. Each manufacturer has its own featured product line, to create its own advantages in the market.

 Not only serve the large domestic market, Vietnamese Biscuit enterprises have developed in many neighbor markets such as China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Korea, and to the distant markets such as Australia, Canada, Ghana ...
 According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first quarter of 2016, the group of biscuit and cereal products of Vietnam that were exported to the world market earned 115.68 million, growth 16.8% compared to the same period in 2015.
 However, the manufacturing sector and business in biscuit industry of domestic enterprises are also facing a stiff competition and risk of being takeover or merger by famous oversea biscuit corporations from Thailand, Japan Japan, Korea, Malaysia ... Therefore, to survive and grow, many local businesses have made efforts to improve the basic brand image, while improving quality and product design, promote exhibition activity through acency, stores, supermarkets, strengthening the expansion of distribution channels, as well as the markets in the provinces ...
