This year, the exhibition will continue to demonstrate its important role as a gateway to help investors and customers to quickly and efficiently approach local and foreign partners with good products. It also explores the emerging trends of the food industry in the country and internationally.
Bui Huy Son, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) talked to Press agencies about 3 new features of the exhibition.
Reporter: It is known that one of the new features of the exhibition this year is to expand more than its last two editions in scale. Could you share this specifically?
Mr. Bui Huy Son: Following the success of the two previous editions, this, basing on the demand and actual registration of businesses, we have decided to optimize the exhibition space by utilizing all of the 13,000 square meters of SECC’s floor space for over 450 domestic and foreign exhibitors, showcasing goods at over 600 booths. This is the largest scale ever to date that no exhibition on food in Vietnam except for Vietnam Foodexpo can do. This demonstrates clearly the prestige, attraction of the effect of the exhibition to businesses.
Reporter: For the first time, Vietnam Foodexpo is expected to receive the largest number of domestic and international buyers. Please give us detailed information.
Mr. Bui Huy Son: Recently, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has actively worked with many domestic ministries such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Foreign Trade Offices in Vietnam, trade promotion organizations in foreign countries, foreign embassies in Vietnam, trade promotion organizations in the world like CBI, BUSINESS FRANCE, ITA, KOTRA, JETRO, AKC, ATPF, TAITRA, ITC..., trade associations, local trade promotion centers... in inviting business partners and buying delegations to the exhibition.
With the cooperation and support of the above agencies, in parallel with the implementation of large-scale communication on diversified mass media in the country and internationally, the PR cooperation of exhibitors..., Vietnam Foodexpo has received registrations of many delegations across the country, importers from more than 50 countries and territories, among which there are big brands, supermarket chains with global presence such as Walmart of America, AEON, BICA (Japan), CJ, Lotte (Korea), Central Group (Thailand)... With the interest of diversified visitors, we expect to have a positive impact on the development of the domestic market, simultaneously actively support for Vietnam companies to penetrate in big world food chains.
Reporter: Will the "reverse exhibition" be organized for the first time at Vietnam Foodexpo?
Mr. Bui Huy Son: We will arrange a separate space right at the main entrance of the exhibition for the "reverse exhibition". Accordingly, this space will be reserved for three big supermarket chains in Vietnam: Hapro Mart, Lotte Mart and Big C to introduce their needs to buy and distribute agricultural products and foodstuffs for Vietnamese companies at these supermarkets. We expect exhibitors will be able to conveniently connect with the above supermarket chains right at this exhibition venue.
