Thousands of foreign traders come to learn about agricultural and food products in Vietnam

With an exhibition area of 13,000 m2, the Vietnam Foodexpo 2018 attracts 600 booths of 450 domestic and foreign exhibitors, from 31 provinces and cities across the country and 23 foreign countries and territories. This is a great opportunity for businesses to introduce and promote products to distributors at home and abroad.

The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade held a brief meeting in the afternoon of 9/11 in HCM City to present the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2018 (Vietnam Foodexpo 2018), which will take place from 14 to 17 November at the Saigon International Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), HCM City.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of the Export Promotion Center, Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, the number of visitors to the 4 day exhibition this year is expected to reach over 20,000 people. Among which there will be potential traders and buyers from key export markets of Vietnam such as Korea, Japan, China, the United States, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Thailand and those from many localities across the country.

"The Ministry of Industry and Trade has assigned the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency to act as a focal point in coordinating with the whole system of Vietnam Trade Offices in foreign countries, foreign agencies and organizations ... to welcome business delegations to the exhibition. Many delegations including prospective agricultural and food importers held by foreign agencies and organizations, Vietnam Trade Offices in the US, Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore ... will transact at the exhibition with Vietnamese producers and distributors", added Thuy.

Exhibitors, in addition to displaying, introducing products, services, finding customers right at their booth, will also be supported directly by the Organizing Committee on demand to work directly with big Vietnamese and foreign distribution chains, retailers, importers such as Walmart (USA), AEON (Japan), CJ, LOTTE, Samsung SF (Korea), Central Group (Thailand), Welltradecom and Ruskhopro (Russia), Vinmart, SATRA (Vietnam), etc. This is a very good opportunity for Vietnamese companies to learn about foreign import demands and requirements right in Vietnam.

During last year's event, Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 attracted 15,000 visitors, an increase of 14% compared to 2016. Of which nearly 2,900 international visitors came from 48 countries and territories. The number of international visitors this year is expected to increase further thanks to the resonance of previous exhibitions’ success.
