Vietnam Foodexpo 2018 to focus on two major goals

According to the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade at the brief presentation meeting of Vietnam Foodexpo 2018 on November 9, 2018, the exhibition will take place from 14- 17/11/2018 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), District 7, HCM City.

With 600 booths of 450 domestic and foreign exhibitors from 31 provinces and 23 foreign countries and territories, Vietnam Foodexpo 2018 will showcase a wide range of products in the fields of fresh, canned and frozen vegetables; Frozen, canned and processed seafood, processed foods; food processing technology and equipment, etc. Vietnam Foodexpo is assessed by professionals and companies to be the largest scale exhibition in the food industry, practically supporting for Vietnamese and foreign companies to connect business and investment.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency said that this year, the Organizing Board of the exhibition had two objectives: to promote Vietnamese food brands and introduce Vietnam as a capable supply source of organic food for the world market.

"The exhibition will focus on businesses that have organic products like rice, pepper, cinnamon, etc. to participate in to convey the message that Vietnam is a country with sustainable food production capacity", Mr. Phu added.

According to Vu Ba Phu, the exhibition is increasingly attractive to businesses. For example, last year, the organizers provided 50% of the booth rental for free as per the policy stipulated in the National Trade Promotion Program. However, this year there is no support for booth rental, only support for the media cost of the whole exhibition, but so far (9th November), the organizers have still received many requests to register for the booth from various companies.

"This year, the exhibition will have 600 booths on 1.3 hectares. Ho Chi Minh City is expected to have a bigger exhibition area so that more businesses can participate", Phu said.

Since the end of 2017, information about the Vietnam Foodexpo 2018 has begun to be widely disseminated on a variety of offline and online channels in Vietnam and abroad. The organizers of the exhibition are expected to help a large number of potential overseas partners to plan their visit at the exhibition, thus creating a valuable destination to effectively connect busy trade and investment transactions in the food sector in Vietnam.
