According to The Fresh Point Magazine (Italia), Vietnam Foodexpo 2017 is the most important annual trade event of the Vietnamese food industry. The event is expanding its influence to other major neighboring markets in Southeast Asia (such as Cambodia, Thailand) and Korea.

In 2016, as a country of honour at Vietnam Foodexpo, Italia participated in the exhibition with 30 businesses, showcasing wide range of well-known beverages and products such as vinegar, pasta, flour, milk, cheese, fruit juice, tomatoes, coffee ... and many leading machinery and equipment in the world for food production and processing.

This year, the Italian Trade Promotion Agency (ICE) continues to be the focal point for organizing Italian business delegation of large scale, bringing with them genuine "made in Italy" products to introduce at the 3rd edition of Vietnam Foodexpo held from 15th-18th November 2017 in HCMC.

The Fresh Point magazine mentioned that with 94 million people and rapid GDP growth, Vietnam is becoming a significant market for consumer goods.

In 2016, Vietnam's GDP grew by 6.3% to over USD 204.2 billion. With per capita income forecasted to continue to grow until 2020, the demand of Vietnamese consumers for diverse and high quality food products becomes higher, The Fresh Point Magazine wrote.

As such, Vietnam is becoming a strategic cooperation destination for Italian food businesses.
