Reporter: One of the new features of Vietnam Foodexpo this year is the display of many organic agricultural and food products at booths and in the Business Match-making Program of the Vietnam Food Forum. What do you think about this organic food development trend?
Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai: This year, Vietnam Foodexpo focuses on displaying organic agricultural and food products made from rice, coconut, cashew nuts, pepper, etc. These products show the consumption trend of the world. The introduction of high-tech organic products processed with the cooperation of many countries and territories in the world which are strong in technology at the exhibition is to convey the message to domestic and international consumers about Vietnam's supply capacity of clean, high quality and safe agricultural and food products.
At present, prices of organic agricultural and food products are still quite high compared to ordinary products. The number of these products just accounts for a small proportion in the exhibition. However, I hope that in the upcoming exhibitions, more organic agricultural and food products will be displayed, introduced and promoted, better meet the needs and tastes of not only export markets but also serve Vietnamese consumers.
Reporter: What does the Ministry of Industry and Trade do to support domestic companies to boost exports of organic agricultural and food products through Vietnam Foodexpo?
Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai: According to the evaluation of international experts and partners, all editions of Vietnam Foodexpo were initially successful and this is the 4th edition of the exhibition. The quality of the exhibition has been increasingly improved. According to reports of the Organizing Committee, the exhibition does not have enough area to meet the needs of many Vietnamese and international exhibitors, but companies having organic products are always prioritized. The booths of organic agricultural and food products attract a large number of domestic and international visitors.
However, after the end of the exhibition, we will continue to coordinate with ministries, branches, localities and especially businesses who produce and trade organic agricultural and food products to introduce import regulations, international business regulations, market trends and tastes of foreign consumers, etc.
Reporter: Thank you, Sir!
